1. What is VA Healthcare? How do I apply?

VA Healthcare is not insurance; it is healthcare at a VA facility. You may have private healthcare insurance AND VA healthcare.

2. What is a VSO (Veteran’s Service Officer) and why would I need one?

A VSO is trained and accredited by the VA to help provide assistance to veterans and their families. Our VSOs are part of the Veterans Service Organization known as PADMVA (Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs). Our VSOs have your best interest in mind and exist to help you get the benefits for which you are eligible. They will educate and assist on claims for veterans and dependents where applicable. DO NOT let anyone charge you a fee for filing veterans’ benefits.

3. What if I need counseling?

If you are a combat Veteran, MST, PTSD veteran and need trusted 100% confidential counseling, you may be eligible for the Vet Center. Please call for screening and first appointment.
