The Recovery Office connects our community to information, resources, and opportunities and equitably distributes funding throughout Montgomery County. Our goal is to support all residents' health, social, and economic well-being, address racial and other disparities, and serve those in need of assistance. The Recovery Office manages a variety of different funding programs and county-wide projects to support this recovery.



Small Business Grant Program with a Focus on Minority, Women, and Veteran Owners

                                                                                        Small Business Grant Program is open Now  Opens in new window  As part of the Pandemic Recovery Fund, the County of Montgomery allocated $2,650,000 to support small businesses.

  • The grant program will provide cash grants of up to $20,000 to qualifying for-profit businesses in Montgomery County which are either (a) located in a qualifying community of Pottstown or Norristown, or (b) can show a financial loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Businesses must have 50 or fewer full and part-time employees and earn under $500,000 in annual gross revenue. Non-profits are not eligible under this program.
  • Businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged groups are especially encouraged to apply due to the disproportionate impacts on these businesses. This includes businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, immigrants, persons with limited English proficiency, persons with disabilities, and others.

 Meeting the community where they are

  • The Recovery Office recently held a two-day workshop for Spanish speakers to discuss our latest initiative, the Small Business Grant program, with an attendance of over 18 entrepreneurs from the Latino community.
  • Throughout the year, we held town halls and workshops with minorities and disadvantaged groups across Montgomery County to collaborate and communicate all of our programs and upcoming initiatives.

Funding to support homeless and at-risk populations

  • Montgomery County is pleased to share that $5,080,650 in new funding is available to support housing services. This funding is made available through the HOME- American Rescue Plan program and is available in addition to the $161.4 million already allocated through the American Rescue Plan Act- Pandemic Recovery Fund.
  • The Recovery Office and Office of Housing and Community Development gathered input through town halls and surveys during the month of October.

disasterrelieficonFunding to support Hurricane Ida Disaster Relief

  • In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Ida on Pennsylvania, and Montgomery and Delaware counites specifically, new Community Development Block Grant- Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding is now available to support disaster relief efforts. A total of roughly $18 million is available to Montgomery and Delaware counties combined, out of the $23 million available statewide.
  • The PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development is managing the allocation plan.
