COVID-19 Vaccine

The Montgomery County Office of Public Health is now scheduling vaccine appointments for:
Boosters with the newly recommended bivalent vaccines.
- Pfizer bivalent COVID-19 boosters are available for those aged 5 years and older.
- Moderna bivalent COVID-19 boosters are available for those aged 6 months through 5 years and for those 12 years and older.
Primary series with the recommended monovalent or bivalent vaccines.
- Pfizer monovalent COVID-19 vaccines are available for those aged 6 months and older.
- Pfizer monovalent COVID-19 vaccine is available for those aged 6 months through 4 years for the 1st and 2nd dose of the primary series.
- Pfizer bivalent COVID-19 vaccine is available for those aged 6 months through 4 years for the 3rd dose in the primary series.
- Moderna monovalent COVID-19 vaccines are available for those aged 6 months through 5 years and for those 18 and older.
Please note: You must schedule your and/or your family’s appointments under the appropriate vaccine and age group. We reserve the right to cancel appointments scheduled under the incorrect age group as a result of limited appointment availability.
Clients attending a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for a 2nd dose, 3rd dose, or a booster dose must bring their CDC vaccination card or a picture of their card on their phone to their appointment. Primary Series and/or Third Dose for Immunocompromised
First and Second Doses (Ages 12+) - Walk-Ins Accepted. 12 years of age and over (Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine): Available on a walk-in basis at all OPH clinics. NO APPOINTMENT is necessary. Additionally, Moderna vaccine is also available at all OPH clinics on a walk-in basis to those aged 18 and older.
First and Second Doses (Ages 5-11) - Appointment Only. 5-11 years of age (Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccine). Appointments are required, no walk-ups will be accepted. Continue scrolling for more information on getting vaccinated as a minor in Montgomery County.
First and Second Doses (Ages 6 months-4 years) - Appointment Only. 6 months - 4 years of age (Pfizer & Moderna COVID-19 vaccine*). Appointments are required, no walk-ups will be accepted. Continue scrolling for more information on getting vaccinated as a minor in Montgomery County.
- *Parents are able to choose which vaccine they would like for their child when they are making their appointment. A pharmacist and nurses will be available at the vaccination clinics to help answer any questions or concerns parents may have.
Third Dose for Immunocompromised - Appointment Only. Pfizer vaccine is available for those 5 years and up and Moderna vaccine is available for those 18 years and up who are immunocompromised. For a list of qualifying conditions, click here. To schedule, you should be at least 28 days from your last dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Boosters
Appointments are encouraged. Appointments for boosters are released approximately one month at a time (dependent upon vaccine availability). If the date you're eligible to receive your booster on falls outside that range, you will not be able to make an appointment or receive a booster and should check back later.
Please bring a copy of your COVID-19 vaccine card (hard copy (preferred) or a picture of your card on your phone). If you lost your card, please check the FAQs to find out how to obtain a replacement card.
The CDC is now recommending:
- Children aged 6 months-4 years who received the monovalent Moderna vaccine for their primary series are now eligible for a Moderna bivalent booster.
- Children age 5 years who completed a Moderna primary series may receive either the previously authorized bivalent Pfizer booster vaccine or the newly authorized bivalent Moderna booster dose at least 2 months after completion of the Moderna primary series.
- Everyone age 5 years and older are recommended to receive a single booster dose of a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine.
Important highlights:
- You must first complete at least a primary series with the original monovalent vaccine before receiving a single bivalent booster at least 2 months later.
- For those 5 years and older, you may receive either brand of bivalent vaccine that is age-appropriate; there is no preference and no need to match the brand of the primary series.
- The bivalent booster recommendation replaces previous booster recommendations for people age 6 months and older.
- COVID-19 vaccines may be co-administered with all other routinely recommended vaccines, including influenza vaccine.
- Those who do not meet the criteria stated above will be unable to receive their booster dose and will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
Centers for Disease Control - About COVID-19 Vaccines
Montgomery County’s Department of Public Safety is offering the COVID-19 vaccine to people with disabilities who are eligible through its Mobile Integrated Health Unit. Anyone who wants to set up a vaccination appointment for an individual that is homebound, please call (610) 631-3079 and leave a voicemail for a callback.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has started a national hotline to help people with disabilities gain access to information and resources for COVID-19 vaccinations. The Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL) service can connect callers with information regarding how to access the vaccine, including local clinics. Additionally, it can also connect them to valuable local and national disability resources.

I made two appointments, one for my COVID-19 booster and one for my flu shot but the times are not the same. What should I do?
Please arrive at the time of your flu shot appointment.
Am I able to edit any of my registration details including personal information and medical conditions through the registration system?
No. You are able to edit this information with the registration clerk on site at your appointment, or you can call (610) 278-5117.
What email address does the appointment confirmation come from?

How will I be notified if my appointment is canceled/rescheduled due to inclement weather?
If an appointment is canceled, you will receive an email stating the appointment was canceled and you will be able to click the link in the email to re-schedule.
I received my first dose, when will I receive an email to schedule my second dose?
You will receive an email regarding your second dose 24-48 hours after you received your first dose. Please check your junk/spam folder if you are unable to locate this e-mail. If you have not received the second dose appointment e-mail, you can make a second dose appointment by going to https://vaccine.montcopa.org/ and clicking on "start registration." When prompted, click "yes" to indicate you have received your first dose and you will be able to complete the registration process for your second dose appointment. How can I cancel or reschedule the second dose appointment?
At the bottom of the confirmation e-mail that you received for your appointment, click on "Reschedule or Cancel my Appointment." If you are canceling but not rescheduling your appointment, you will receive a cancellation confirmation e-mail with a link that says "Schedule a New Appointment" to reschedule at a later time.
If I received my first dose somewhere else, can I schedule my second dose at a Montgomery County clinic?
Yes, please go to https://vaccine.montcopa.org/ and click “start registration” to register for an appointment. When prompted, click “yes” to indicate you have received your first dose and it will direct you through a series of questions to schedule a second dose appointment.
I'm trying to schedule my appointment for a third dose/booster, but the website isn't working.
Please make sure you are using either the Google Chrome or Firefox browser when registering. If you continue to have problems, email COVID19@montgomerycountypa.gov.
If I’m feeling sick, should I cancel my vaccine appointment?
Yes. Anyone who has symptoms of an acute illness of any type should NOT come to a vaccination site.
Can I receive a smart health card (QR codes) from OPH vaccination sites?
Pennsylvania does not issue SMART Health Cards with a QR code for COVID-19 vaccinations. However, there are national pharmacies which issue SMART Health Cards. For a full list of issuers, please visit https://smarthealth.cards/en/issuers.html
How can I get a copy of my COVID-19 vaccination record?
If you were vaccinated in PA and have an immunization record in PA SIIS (Pennsylvania’s Immunization Registry) you must call an Montgomery County Public Health Center (see below) or email covid19@montgomerycountypa.gov and include the full name, date of birth, contact number, and email address. We will not accept walk-ins. If your request can be processed, you will be informed when and where you can pick up your vaccination record or card. We will not mail COVID-19 vaccination cards to you.
