Montco 2040: A Shared Vision, which was adopted by the Montgomery County Commissioners on January 15, 2015, was designed as a living document. It is usable, implementable, and measurable. The next step for this important comprehensive plan is implementation. The county has prepared a 2020 implementation update that incorporates proposed actions by county departments and partners. Through this process, Montco 2040: A Shared Vision will remain a vital guiding document for the future of the county and its built environment. MONTCO 2040 IMPLEMENTATION GRANT PROGRAM
On March 3, 2016, the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners announced the Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program. The program is intended to assist municipalities in making targeted physical improvements that achieve real progress toward the goals listed in the themes of the comprehensive plan. Including the 2020 cycle, the grant program has awarded over $7.5 million to 71 projects in 43 municipalities in Montgomery County.
